Hi, we're Chanterelle and Shitake, 8 month old twins, sisters, and BFFs, and we need a special home with someone who won't mind when we exhibit our bursts of shyness and retreat to a quiet place. We are incredibly adorable, loving, and deserving, and that is only the beginning of our story. It began last June when we were left in a kennel as kittens on the front porch of a known volunteer. We had ringworm (a pesky skin fungus) so we required a lot of medical care until that was gone, so we remained in foster for quite a while. In October, once we had healed, we moved to a different foster home, and we've been there ever since. Here's the deal. We've been socialized beyond belief but we still from time to time get shy around strangers, especially at busy adoption events, so we tend to get overlooked for the "friendlier" felines, hence, our ask for help now! We are fabulously quirky and affectionate, each in our own way. I, Shitake, am a sweet and affectionate girl who loves belly rubs and playing fetch. I'm the confident, outgoing one of the two of us. Chanterelle is certainly more anxious, but is very silly and entertaining, and when she is held she stays in your arms for such a long time purring and enjoying pets. She just needs you to allow her time to get comfortable, and then she is all in! Both of us are playful and vocal and follow our foster family around throughout the day. We love to be near them and know what they are doing. We both have big bright eyes, but Chanterelle takes the cake - she always has a wide-eyed expression and watches everything! We've been overlooked so many times for adoption that we are now begging for someone to welcome us with open arms. Our foster family is fabulous, but they could be helping more kitties if we had our own family! Will you help us find that family in the new year?!
