Hi, I’m Snowbelly! The first thing you’ll notice about me is my stunningly handsome good looks. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than this, right?! I’m five, the purrfect age of knowing just enough to be wise yet able to still play the young at heart card. I came to FieldHaven last year when my person could no longer care for me. It was a tough situation—no one wanted to see me lose my person, but it was for the best. It was heartbreaking for everyone, as it should be! Upon my arrival, it was noted that I needed a pretty serious dental procedure and bloodwork. The problem? I was bordering on a feral cat! I was not happy! I was sassy and fought every effort when anyone tried to help me. I was angry! So, I went to foster care to decompress. I mellowed out, accepted the change, and acclimated. I soon learned that it was much easier to love and be loved. And oh my goodness, I soon remembered how amazing people are! I accepted any affection I could get and threw myself at everyone for attention. Sweet doesn’t even begin to describe my revamped purrsonality! However, in addition to that, I gained confidence… so much so that I became a bit sassy, and playful, and paw-sy (like handsy, get it?). I enjoy rough play, but with good intentions, and I like to pretend to be the boss. A little confidence never hurt anyone, right?! Fast forward to earlier this year, well, I had my dental and bloodwork, and we discovered I am FIV+. That’s feline immunodeficiency virus, which attacks the immune system and basically means I am more vulnerable to basic infections compared to other cats. I am healthy and asymptomatic, but it would be ideal to either have me in a home with no other cats, mellow cats, or other FIV+ cats. And of course it has to depend on your comfort level. But I am ready for a home, and understand it may take time to find just the right one. Regardless, I deserve it. I’ve come a long way, I’m handsome, young, and nothing is going to get me down. So, if you’re looking for a sweet yet sometimes cocky fella to enter into a relationship with, look no further. Snowbelly has arrived! P.S. FIV is not scary! After years of studies, science now tells us that FIV+ cats can live among other cats who don't have it. There is no longer a need to separate them or make them your only pet; FIV+ cats can have long, happy, healthy lives!
