Hi! I’m Dave the Magical Cheese Wizard, and I know my name is a bit odd, but initially I was thought to be a he! Oops! We kept it because it’s catchy, but considering I’m a four-month-old female, it no longer works, so my foster has affectionately dubbed me Delilah. I’m in need of a very patient, quiet home, so I’m hoping you’ll share my story and help me find one? First up… my beauty! I have amazing markings. I wear a Zorro mask on my eyes and face, and my petite frame is purrfectly made for me. My story? I’ve been in foster care with one of FieldHaven’s most seasoned fosters for socialization. She says I’m one of the most timid tiny gals she’s ever had, and sadly, I still tend to shy away from her. The good news? While nervous, once you put me in your arms, I enjoy being held and find safety being wrapped in my blanket in your arms. I originally came to FieldHaven a little over a month ago. I was rescued from a colony in Yuba County where my siblings were TNR’d. I was small, a runt, and it was thought I would easily socialize, so they decided against returning me to the colony. However, what we’re seeing is I’m still a little scaredy cat! Oh, I eat and play and catnap and do all the normal cat things, and I get along fabulously with other cats, but humans are still testing my boundaries. Here’s the thing. I may be what we kindly call a “house feral” and take months or years to come around but not be a fit for the great outdoors… OR I may turn out to be a social butterfly! Many people have taken in cats like me and found that as I establish who I want to be, my secret extrovert slowly flourishes. It just takes time! So, that being said, I really need the perfect home… one with people who have a calm, soothing lifestyle, no tiny humans, and no barking dogs. I’m gently and kind and a meticulous roommate and companion; I just prefer the company of other cats right now to YOU! But I still deserve a chance, and love, and a home. It’s that simple. If you have it in your heart and home to offer me space, or if you know someone else who does, reach out. Fill out the adoption application to get to know more about me and maybe, just maybe I’ll be onto the next chapter before we know it!
